 The Andrew, a Clarion Collection hotel, located at 75 North Station Plaza, is now open. The hotel is only 25 minutes from New York City and a block away from the Long Island Railroad.
The Clarion Collection is franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE:CHH), one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors. This brand extension of the upscale Clarion brand features unique, historic or boutique hotels that have strong local recognition and unique designs or features.
“The Andrew, a Clarion Collection, is a welcome addition to our system,” said Michael J. Ludden, senior director and brand manager, Clarion Brand Hotels. “This unique, boutique hotel has upscale room amenities and hotel features and bears all the distinctive hallmarks of the Clarion Collection line.”
The Andrew, a Clarion Collection hotel, is owned by Philip Pilevsky. Swietlana Cahill is the general manager. Philip Pilevsky also owns the Bryant Park Hotel in Manhattan and the Shore Club in Miami’s South Beach.
The four-story building was constructed in the 1960s to accommodate people surrounding the World’s Fair. The entire building, including guest rooms and public areas, underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2001.
The Andrew, a Clarion Collection, features 62 custom-designed rooms featuring one king or two queen size beds and junior suites. Each room has 27-inch cable TV, in-room refreshment center, DVD/CD player, dual-line cordless phones with voice mail, speakerphone, dataport and high-speed internet access, executive style writing desk, marble accent bathrooms, luxurious bathrobes, reading chair, in-room safe, and complimentary USA Today. Each room features custom-designed cherry and limed oak furniture, leather paneled headboards and exotic materials such as mohair raw silk and ultra suede.
Hotel features include the Colbeh Restaurant, which provides lunch, dinner and room service, 24-hour concierge service, nightly turn-down service, shoe shine, laundry and dry cleaning service, DVD library, lobby bar, valet parking, executive boardroom with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and room service from top Great Neck restaurants. The hotel has two meeting rooms, which accommodate 13 and 150 people.
Room rates start at $175 and include a complimentary full continental breakfast, which is served in the terrace room and features a variety of bagels, pastries, French toast, waffles, croissants, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, tea and juices.
The Andrew, a Clarion Collection hotel, is within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The hotel is near Nassau Coliseum, Westbury Music Fair, Jones Beach Theatre and the North Shore Jewish Health System.
