ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., June 20 Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE:BYD) announced today that Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa has set Thursday, July 3, 2003 as its opening day, pending the receipt of final regulatory approvals. Borgata, which broke ground in September 2000, is a joint venture development of Boyd Gaming and MGM MIRAGE (NYSE:MGG) .
William S. Boyd, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming, said, "We are very excited about our opening and look forward to sharing the Borgata experience beginning July 3. Interest in Borgata is reaching new heights everyday. In fact, our database, MY BORGATA REWARDS, is currently enrolling over 2,500 qualified customers a day."
Located at Renaissance Pointe in Atlantic City, the property features 2,002 guest rooms and suites, 125,000 square feet of gaming, 11 destination restaurants, 11 retail boutiques, a 50,000 square foot spa, 70,000 square feet of event space and parking for 7,100 cars.
