ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 19, 2003) - The Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort, located just two blocks south of Disneyland Park and adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, opened March 14. The 284-guestroom, full-service hotel, which is owned and operated by Sunburst Hospitality, formerly operated as the Quality Hotel MainGate.
The Clarion hotel brand is franchised by Choice Hotels International (NYSE: CHH), one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors. Sunburst Hospitality Corporation is a leading hotel owner and manager of nationally recognized hotels and operates in 24 states.
The Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort is set in the heart of Anaheim’s entertainment and convention center district, which recently completed a $6.5 million renovation. The hotel features nine stories, extensive meeting facilities, two restaurants, a lounge, gift shop, outdoor heated swimming pool, deck and seasonal cabana bar.
“The Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort offers the Clarion brand's upgraded room amenities and top-line hotel features, with a great location close to all the Disney attractions at a very competitive price,” said Jim MacCutcheon, CEO of Sunburst.
A seven-time Gold Award Winner, the Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort features guestrooms and studio suites. Each guestroom features one king or two double size beds, a remote-control cable television, hair dryer, tea/coffee maker, iron, ironing board, in-room safe, Nintendo, and telephone with data ports. Each studio suite features a refrigerator and microwave oven, two double or one king size bed and sofa bed. Non-smoking rooms and rooms for individuals with disabilities are also available.
“The property is perfectly positioned to serve both business and leisure travelers,” according to General Manager Jeff Heath. The resort’s convenient shuttle to the Magic Kingdom of Disneyland leaves every hour. The property’s 7,000 square foot Conference Theatre can accommodate groups up to 500. A Clarion Class Biznet Business Center, with a computer, printer, fax and photocopy machines will be built in the near future.
