    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Marketing or related field.
    • 2 - 4 years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    • Computer literate and a working Knowledge of hotel operating systems are a plus.
    • Must speak fluent English.
    • Other languages preferred.

    Our Client in Katy, Tx is seeking a candidate that is down to earth and friendly, considerate, and reliable.  The Director of Sales needs to develop and set revenue sales and marketing strategies for the hotel, ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored, and sales goals are achieved. The Director will also regularly sell hotel room nights and meeting room through direct client contacts. OUTSIDE SALES EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Experience in industry preferred. 

    Duties and responsibiIites

    Financial returns:

    • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel marketing plan and business plan as well as financial plans.
    • Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates and increase volume.
    • Capture new business by conducting outside sales calls, sales blitz and telephone prospecting.
    • Produce weekly and monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends.
    • Coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure
      actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.


    • Manage day-to-day sales activities, assist with establishing developmental goals and training for “Guest Service" staff.
    • Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance and recognize good performance.
    • Work with other department managers to ensure proper staffing levels based on guest volume.

    Guest experience:

    • Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programs, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales as well as meeting room/food & beverage sales.
    • Schedule client and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level staff to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
