    QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 1-2 years telemarketing and/or inside sales experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Communications or related field
    • Experience in selling services or products in any of the following areas is a plus: Cloud infrastructure, software-as-a-service, hosting or colocation, preferred
    • Strong familiarity with Salesforce.com and preferred experience with a marketing automation solution, preferred
    • Ability to generate new leads and close new customers
    • Ability to foster strong customer relationships
    • Strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Must be able to negotiate and/or influence others to gain support for the company's needs as they change.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

     

    Internap is seeking a sales and marketing professional who is energetic, self-motivated and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for developing new business opportunities through a variety of sales development strategies including; targeted emails, phone calls, prospect follow-ups and appointment setting as well as other methods to support Internap’s regional and corporate   marketing programs in addition to the company’s overall sales bookings target. The BDR will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business opportunities from multiple sources including existing database marketing leads, prospect lists, social networks, discovery and individual research. This individual will identify business needs and issues, capture market intelligence, qualify, nurture and deliver qualified opportunities for the inside and field sales teams to pursue. This position will be part of the marketing department and will work very closely with Internap’s sales organization to contribute to the opportunity pipeline.

     

     

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Leverage industry knowledge and a deep understanding of Internap’s product offerings to qualify and develop outbound sales leads for Internap’s direct and inside sales teams
    • Conduct research and customer profile targeting to develop new business opportunities through a variety of sales and marketing methods including; email, social media and telephone to introduce Internap and identify target customers.
    • Complete accurate tracking of communication with current and potential customers in SalesForce.com to appropriately measure and track quality of leads and conversions.
    • Work with sales and marketing managers and directors to design and execute region specific outbound efforts
    • Identify buying signals, conduct qualification conversations and arrange product demonstrations
    • Develop a strategy to nurture leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects and future customers for Internap.
    • Conduct lead follow-up conduct research to identify potential prospects
    • Track and manage prospecting, qualification and nurture activities in Salesforce.com, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate and documents are attached
    • Use existing and emerging social media tools to monitor targeted accounts and prospects, and identify trigger events for follow-up
    • Understand and articulate Internap’s solutions and offerings
    • Work directly with the sales organization to understand pipeline, prospect qualification process, and deliver quality leads
    • Responsible for building and cultivating prospect relationships to generate sales opportunities
    • Responsible for following up on leads generated by Marketing as well as generating new leads as required to meet sales quota
    • Must maintain an up-to-date funnel and provide weekly forecast updates to sales management
    • Must manage data for new and prospective clients in Salesforce.com, ensuring all activity is logged and information is accurate
    • Meets and exceeds all metrics including:
      • Lead generation quota
      • Drive sales to closure
      • Bookings quota achieved
      • Revenue quota achieved

    • Use existing and emerging social media tools to monitor targeted accounts and prospects, and identify trigger events for follow-up i.e. Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, etc..
