    Job Description




    Direct vehicular traffic in the Porte Cochere and stage vehicles in a manner that will ensure continued and safe traffic flow for both vehicles and pedestrians. Direct Bell Attendants where retrieved vehicles should be staged. Greet arriving guests and assist departing guests in an efficient, informative manner while demonstrating the “Spirit of Aloha”.





    Job Responsibilities: Maximum of ten responsibilities, in order of percentage of time spent on functions from longest to shortest; do not list anything that does not represent at least 10% of the job's time. Please include supervisory responsibilities.



    1.
    Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the Porte Cochere. Ensure that traffic is clear and that vehicles are able to flow thru the driveway.



    2.
    Direct Bell Attendants where retrieved vehicles should be staged.



    3.
    Direct Bell Attendants which vehicles should be parked and where.



    4.
    Greet guests arriving from all forms of transportation. If they have a vehicle, explain the parking fee. Inform guests that the hotel is not responsible for valuables left in the vehicle. Ask guests to call down in advance for their vehicle retrieval. Issue a tag for the vehicle and a tag for the luggage. Collect keys for all vehicles parked in Porte Cochere. Offer luggage assistance



    5.
    Assist departing guests. Direct them to transportation or help arrange desired transportation, if necessary. Thank guests for staying at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.



    6.
    Check on and service guests seated or present in the lower lobby, as needed (directions, suggestions, guidance, “Hotel Ambassador of Aloha”).



    7.
    Monitor and manage arriving shuttles as well as taxi cabs staged in the Porte Cochere.



    8.
    Issue call down keys to guests ensuring that they have signed for the vehicle and that the vehicle ticket and guest ticket march.



    9.
    Manage and be responsible for the keys for all vehicles parked in the Porte Cochere that are either in your position or in the Door Attendant Key Box.



    10.
    Assist the Bell Clerk as needed.



    11.
    Perform other duties as assigned.





    Job Qualifications: Describe the minimum qualifications needed to complete the job responsibilities.



    Education
    High School degree/diploma or equivalent additional experience.



    Experience
    Two or more years experience in Hospitality Industry, preferably hotel experience.

    The Door Attendant is able to creatively manage the Porte Cochere as long as he/she adheres to the policies and procedures that have been implemented by hotel management.
