    Job Description

    Serving under the Operations Division of a federal program, the Chapter Coordinator will report directly to the Program Manager of Operations. Over time, as strategic needs change and the NLSC continues to grow the reporting structure of this function may change.

    1. Serves as the activities and resource coordinator to a diverse regional multilingual Membership base, communicating and interacting regularly with Members in person, via e-mail, social media, and phone.

    2.  Provide a Regional/local presence for Texas Members and provide a forum for Members to network and connect locally.

    3.  Acts as the liaison between Members and headquarters regarding Member concerns, event recommendations etc. specific to the area .

    4.  Creates and maintains a diverse database of resources for Regional Chapter information and activities.

    5.  Plans and coordinates meeting space and arrangements with hotels, restaurants, and other event venues.

    6.  Interacts and networks with local organizations and entities to establish meaningful and long-lasting relationships to benefit the Regional/local Membership.

    7.  Plans, coordinates, and conducts events, visits, local activities, and/or gatherings with the local Membership.   

    8.  Manages the Membership database and tracks activity information in CRM.

    9.  Generates Chapter activity reports and provides regular updates of chapter program activities to the Operations Division to ensure Regional Chapter goals are met.

    10.  Work closely with the Recruiting team to ensure a coordinated Member/Outreach approach is achieved.

    11. Participate in recruiting and outreach events in an effort to acquire new members.

    12. Work closely with the Client Engagement/Outreach team to ensure a coordinated client engagement/outreach approach is achieved.

    13. Establish relationships with new and existing clients and determine need for language services.

    14. Participates in special projects as assigned.


     Requires BS/BA degree.



    2-5 years of professional business experience required. 1-2 years of experience in event or meeting planning. 1-2 years of experience networking with Texas organizations preferred.

    Member of the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) required.

    Ability and willingness to work with individuals from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.

    Ability and willingness to network with private and public organizations in the Texas Area.

    Ability and willingness to work as part of a dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented team.

    Must reside in the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio area of Texas.
