    Job Description


    Job Purpose:

    Responsible for planning, organizing and developing training procedures for the overall operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department. Maintain standards of cleanliness of all public and guest rooms areas. Participate fully as part of the leadership team of the resort.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1.

    Supervise Housekeepers and House Persons. Properly schedule staff as needed and minimize overtime, requisition supplies and perform written inspections to review with Housekeepers. Responsible for lost and found program.

    2.

    Ensure each Housekeeper is trained to deliver the highest degree of care for guests and owners. Foster Team Spirit and lead with the goals of the Guest Service Cultural program.

    3.

    Monitor condition of owner assets, report issues or concerns to the GM which may include photos. Missing, damaged or broken items to be reported to owner via

    e-mail and GM copied. Ensures owner and VIP arrivals are inspected and in the best possible condition with all owner belongings in place.

    4.

    Review Laundry conditions daily, ensuring frayed, stained or unusable items are discarded and accounted for. Housekeeping area should be cleared frequently of discards/unusable items and organized.

    5.

    Create and maintain an inventory list for all owner belongings and ensure kitchen items are at a suitable par for each type of condo.

    6.

    Schedule & track carpet cleaning every six months. Schedule steam cleaning of floor tiling once a year and coordinate sealant with Maintenance. Schedule clear shower door cleaning with outside vendor and granite sealing with maintenance.

    Build relationships with vendors and ensure their quality of workmanship is acceptable.

    7.

    Ensure that Department staff members are trained according to the Safety Procedures outlined for the year. Oversees all aspects of safety, including equipment, chemicals and updating the 3M program for MSDS compliance.

    8.

    Build relationships with other Housekeepers from Aqua-Aston properties to gain learning ideas.

    9.

    Assist with projects and other duties as they arise.

    Job Qualifications:

    Education

    High School degree/diploma or equivalent additional experience.

    Experience/Skills

    4 or more years' experience in resort industry.

    Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, property management system, Outlook, copier, scanner. Must be well organized, have good communication skills with staff and management. Ability to anticipate customer needs, can change direction quickly and multitask. Have Excellent customer service capabilities. Is self-motivating with a strong sense of responsibility. Must be flexible with working nights, weekends and holidays.

    Licenses/Certifications

    Active Hawaii Driver's License
