    Requirements:

    The Lead Designer will be the strong voice for design quality and consistency across multiple platforms and will need to have an advanced knowledge of user experience and research practices. The Lead Designer will work collaboratively and independently with latitude for action to translate business, brand, marketing, user experience, and content strategies into a conceptual and visual framework for Hilton's digital applications including web, mobile applications, and enterprise software. Assignments will include the development of digital standards, art directing design teams, leading project teams, project level work, marketing design requests, and individual hotel websites.


    What will I be doing?

    • On assigned projects, collaborate with project Team Members (Design, User Experience Architecture, Development, Digital Client Services, and Optimization)
    • Facilitate collaborative brainstorming sessions and design workshops
    • Help gather and define project requirements and contribute to product strategy
    • Responsible for continuous improvement and training
    • Provide project estimates as appropriate
    • Keep up with the latest trends in the industry
    • Review assignments and design tickets to regularly communicate your individual capacity
    • Contribute to leadership decisions on process, implementations, and software adoption
    • Work with the project team, brand management, and/or key stakeholders to establish the design direction for digital projects
    • Will be an advocate for evidence-based design that balances user needs with business objectives
    • Develop design elements including site layout, navigation, images, icons, animations and other multimedia assets to support online strategies and provide a usable and compelling digital experience
    • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy
    • Act as a Creative subject-matter-expert reviewing design-related requests for adherence to graphic standards to ensure a consistent creative approach for all brand digital initiatives
    • Use judgment to select appropriate photography and other images
    • Produce working prototypes of intended interaction design
    • Assure all deliverables are of high quality
    • Produce required specs and assets to development
    • Track time accurately
    • Provide support and art direction for Junior Designers and Associate Designers
    • Participate in design reviews with stakeholders to ensure that design meets both business objectives and user needs
    • Archive files and document patterns that may have emerged from project work
    • As needed, help the Design Leadership to assign and schedule design work
    • As needed, help the Design Leadership determine production schedules and design reviews
    • Work on other assignments as needed

    What are we looking for?

    To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

    • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
    • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience
    • Exceptional design skills, including color theory, layout, typography, corporate identity and branding
    • Ability to translate abstract concepts into innovative designs
    • Solid knowledge of user interface design, industry standards and trends, usability best practices, platform and browser capabilities and digital design constraints
    • Knowledge of development concepts
    • Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch App, prototyping software and strong graphic optimization skills
    • Experience working in an Agile environment
    • Occasional travel may be required

    It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

    • A minimum of nine (9) years of professional experience
    • Experience working with remote teams
    • Knowledge of HTML/CSS
