The Implementation Consultant will work with the implementation team under the leadership of the VP of Implementations. The main focus of this position is to serve as a single point of contact between customers, line management, HVS vendors and McKesson departments. The Implementation Consultant will provide systems configuration, change management, and business consulting expertise for HVS customers. The Implementation Consultant will carry overall responsibility for the quality and coordination of implementation projects as well as the ownership of the customer experience with implementation.
Oversees/coordinates various aspects of a project or program, interfacing with various areas affected by the project, including stakeholders (internally & externally)
Oversees/facilitates all aspects of the development/implementation of a project or program involving department or cross-functional teams, & interfacing with all internal/external stakeholders throughout the project or program lifecycle (initiation to close)
Monitors & performs control activities (e.g., risk, issue, change, cost, schedule, communication management) for the program or project throughout the specific lifecycle
Develops project plans, including but not limited to project scope, objectives, schedules, risk/issue management, change control, effort & cost estimates, resource requirements, budgets, & communications
Assesses project issues & develops resolutions and/or mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, & client-satisfaction goals
Manages the integration of external vendor resources and/or deliverables into the project plan -Ensures project adherence to McKesson's business unit or project process methodology
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Serve as the primary point of contact, liaison, and sole responsible owner of the customer and internal teams within MPTS. Partner with customers to understand business need for the HVS product/solution and demonstrate value based on those needs throughout the implementation process.
Collaborate with the cross functional implementation team to produce an Implementation Project Plan in accordance with best practices of the HVS Implementation Team.
Ability to indirectly manage cross-functional teams and resources assigned to the project that include other Implementation resources, Customer Operations, Business Segment and R&D
Provide subject matter expertise on HVS product/service offerings by collaborating with the customer on the strategy, preparation, and execution of all of the system configurations.
Ability to manage Implementation Consulting duties for multiple customers concurrently, including post go-live monitoring to compare site metrics to key performance indicator goals.
Lead the utilization of standard consultative processes which will lead to the production of configuration, workflow, staffing, physical layout, and quality measurement deliverables to be used as a blueprint for the system build and a measurement of its success and collaborate on Change Management strategy to ensure adoption of new technology and processes.
2+ years experience in project management, requirements definition and/ or deployment of business requirements to
Basic knowledge/use of
Awareness of CMMI, PMBOK, Six Sigma or other commonly accepted project management processes &
Awareness of tools available to
track project deliverables
Awareness of document management best practices (e.g., planning for how documentation will be managed, stored, archived)
Familiarity with IT terms (for specific IT functional area supporting)
Basic understanding of different development lifecycles & appropriate product methodologies
Basic understanding of data handling requirements of PHI & PCI is preferred
Consulting, project management, or central fill business knowledge is preferred
4-year degree in computer science or related field or
- PMP certification highly preferred
- Six Sigma certification highly
