    The primary responsibility of the Sales Manager is to sell the complete portfolio of products on property.  There will be a focus on both new business sales and up selling into existing accounts to secure target revenue.  This position will grow the existing customer base with key customer s and establish new business within target utilizing the full resources available in the organization

    Production minimum: $1,500,000 core / $2,500,000 luxury

    Room Night Threshold:  201 to 500

    The Convention Sales Manager is essential in building a sophisticated culture dedicated to providing refined luxury service.  We assist in creating lasting and favorable memories by providing a positive guest experience at every point of contact.  This position promotes, directs, and leads the company's core service standards and brand attributes while also supporting the company's sustainability initiatives and platform.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures.

    • Provide input and execute strategic plan for assigned department consistent with the strategic vision of the division
    • Provide input into and execute the development, implementation and measurement of guest service standards within assigned department consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes
    • Evaluate and handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
    • Execute pre-qualifications and rate negotiations; establish files, issue contracts, process bookings and appropriate follow-up correspondence with clients.
    • Maintain frequent contact with established and prospective clients.
    • Develop new and grow existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
    • Identify and develop opportunities to maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel
    • Attend and represent Hotel at trade shows presentations, sales trips, etc.
    • Assist in creating programs to improve room sales and to target soft and off-peak periods.
    • Participate and be involved in the community and professional organizations.
    • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal and written sales presentations to prospect clients.
    • Manage and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
    • Participate in the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality/gaming environment.
    • Perform all other job related duties as requested.


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education.
    • At least 2 years of hotel sales department, entertainment, advertising or special event experience.
    • Must have experience in the following areas; meeting planning, decor planning, and set up direction.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
    • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
    • Proficient in PC software (Stratus, Windows, Excel, MS Word, Delphi and Microsoft Exchange).
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.


    • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
