WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION:

BS in EE or ME or the equivalent in demonstrated knowledge

2 years experience, preferably with a fractional horsepower motor manufacturer

Strong knowledge of electric motor principles, testing, construction, manufacturing, and material costing for all types of fractional horsepower motors

In-depth computer skills related to specific needs of this role

Motor simulation knowledge a plus.

Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a lead player

Dynamic self starter with admirable management skills

Strong decision making skills

Ability to travel and meet other Whirlpool or supplier operations

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Project Engineer, Motor Technology in our Controls & Electronics function. Day to Day (what a typical day or week look like in this role)
The project engineer for motors will develop an expanding working knowledge of Whirlpool products, processes, and test requirements and apply it to specific projects. In this position you will troubleshoot, analyze, and conceive solutions for various motor problems, including performance, test methods, construction, quality, and materials. You will also be responsible for managing multiple projects while maintaining a strong communication link with your supervisor, customers, and suppliers. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Develop and / or qualify motors for a new generation of appliance products.

Validate motor parameters through testing.

Evaluate materials, construction, and perform a 'Should Cost Analysis' on samples

Find solutions to solve technical issues in applications.

Participate as a team in an international working environment.!|!
