    LOGISTICS COORDINATOR (IMPORT OR EXPORT SERVICES)


    Import Services and Export Services are two separate departments that work together to service customers’ needs directly.  Both Import Services and Export Services deliver a reliable and consistent shipping product and produce performance transparency through a series of service commitments published via our “Count on MOL” campaign.



    The Import Services Team performs import processing and provides assistance to customers on matters related to their existing shipments.  The Import Services Team aims to satisfy customers' needs, enhance their overall satisfaction, and provide quality MOL interaction experiences.



    The Export Services Team generally performs transportation order booking and provides assistance to customers on matters related to their existing bookings and documentation.  The Export Services Team aims to satisfy customers' needs, enhance their overall satisfaction, and provide quality MOL interaction experiences.



    Positions report to:  Manager, Import Services or Manager, Export Services



    Status: Non-exempt



    Responsibilities:



    Import-specific




    • Import processing to include: manifest corrections, cargo release upon receipt of OBL and ocean freight, submitting hazardous declaration documents to marine terminals, and demurrage invoicing.

    • Monitoring of containers on marine and rail terminal to minimize demurrage.

    • Coordinate the handling of COD’s and diversions.

    • Manage high volume of emails and phone calls.

    • Interact frequently with other departments internally (Sales, Sales Services, Intermodal Services, and Service Recovery Team) to ensure seamless customer experience; to include offshore communication with Panama, India, Asian, Latin, and European teams.

    • Provide consistent and timely communication to all customers pertaining to all aspects of container movement.

    • Actively engage in assigned training regimens (eg; anti-trust, regulatory).

    • Navigate all MOL service contracts, tariffs, and regulatory documents (CFR) to include MOL proprietary pricing system (MPS).

    • Liaison between customer and Carrier Services and Intermodal

    • Proper handling of specialized shipments to include cross border shipments, freight moving in and out of Free Trade Zones

    • Develop a strong knowledge of MOL Power and communicate with customer base

    • Ability to construct support for resolution of demurrage disputes

    • Ability to navigate and update marine, terminal and railroad operations websites



     



    Export-specific




    • Process export bookings whether by phone, web or electronically including both dry and special equipment (reefer/hazardous/out of gauge) bookings within assigned turn-time standards.

    • Coordinate the handling of COD’s and diversions.

    • Manage high volume of emails and phone calls.

    • Interact frequently with other departments internally (Sales, Sales Support, Intermodal Services, Equipment, and Trade) to ensure seamless customer experience; to include offshore communication with Panama, India, Asian, Latin, and European teams.

    • Provide consistent and timely communication to all customers pertaining to all aspects of container movement.

    • Actively engage in assigned training regimens eg; anti-trust, regulatory.

    • Navigate all MOL service contracts, Tariffs, and regulatory documents (CFR) to include MOL proprietary pricing system (MPS).

    • Liaison between customer and Carrier Services, Intermodal and Equipment groups.

    • Timely submission of reefer and hazardous manifest details as dictated by local port authorities.

    • Proper handling of specialized shipments to include cross border shipments, freight moving in and out of Free Trade Zones.

    • Develop a strong knowledge of MOL Power customer facing website and communicate with customer base.



    Qualifications:




    • College degree preferred.

    • High level of verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to multi-task.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    • Strong service orientation; desire to satisfy internal and external customers.

    • Work schedule flexibility (Note: either position requires flexibility for various shifts on a rotational basis. All shifts fall between the hours of 8a.m. and 8p.m.).

    • Knowledge of U.S. Customs rules and regulations within the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

    • "Team Player" outlook.

    • Strong problem solving and decision making skills..
