Automated process ensures that negotiated corporate hotel rates are competitive with consumer Website offers
Lanyon, Inc. (www.lanyon.com) today announced the availability of Lanyon Rate Parity™, the first corporate sourcing solution to proactively address the impact of hotel Web rates to corporate negotiated hotel programs.
Lanyon Rate Parity squarely addresses the pervasive issue many corporate travel buyers encounter with consumer Websites that offer rates below their negotiated corporate rate and undermine the perceived value of their hotel program. In recent beta tests completed with Lanyon corporate clients, rates were available online for less than the negotiated corporate rate at preferred properties in 30% of corporate bookings evaluated, with online rates that were lower by up to 55%.
“Building upon recent travel sourcing innovations, Lanyon has developed a new automated capability to address the impact of Web rates on corporate hotel programs,” said Todd Tyler, President & Chief Executive Officer for Lanyon. “From our conversations with corporate travel buyers, we know many of them have struggled for years to rationalize hotel Web rates and negotiated corporate rates with their business travelers. We believe Rate Parity closes this gap and helps corporate travel buyers restore confidence in their corporate hotel programs,” said Tyler.
Lanyon Rate Parity automates the process of checking multiple consumer Websites for improved pricing at preferred properties. The automated Rate Parity solution examines the existing list of preferred properties and negotiated rates, and makes future pricing requests at multiple Websites to identify rates that are lower than the negotiated corporate rate. A detailed report is provided to the corporate travel buyer who can then bring these rates to the attention of their preferred partners for discussion and/or negotiation.
The creation of a simple Microsoft Excel file containing a list of hotels and negotiated rates is all that is required to conduct a Lanyon Rate Parity analysis. Lanyon’s Transient Sourcing clients can easily export their negotiated corporate rates as an Excel file, and send to their Lanyon account manager for further analysis.
Lanyon is offering one month of free Rate Parity service for those corporate travel buyers who initiate the service before May 1, 2010. To learn more about Rate Parity, contact Michael Boult at mike.boult@lanyon.com.
Established in 1984 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, many car rental companies, travel management companies, agencies, airlines, and over 80,000 hotels worldwide now use Lanyon for their RFP and content management needs.
