Hampton Opens Nine Hotels In October 2007 |
|
Includes opening of 20th hotel in Oklahoma |
Hampton, the international brand of more than 1,450 mid-priced Hampton Inn(R) and Hampton Inn & Suites(R) hotels, opened nine properties in October 2007-representing 1,039 new rooms. The new openings include two Hampton Inn hotels and seven Hampton Inn & Suites properties. All openings are franchised, newly constructed hotels.
'Nine states became home to new Hampton hotels in the month of October, and we could not be more thrilled with the record development pace our brand has followed throughout 2007 and will continue with for the remainder of the year,' said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, Hampton brand management. 'Last month, we set another development milestone for Hampton with the opening of our 20th Hampton property in Oklahoma, and we also have four properties in the state that are currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2008.'
From a product and development standpoint, Hampton recently announced a brand-wide initiative to 'non-scent' its more than 145,000 hotel rooms. Non-Scents, created through a joint effort with Procter & Gamble's Febreze(R) Linen & Sky brand, is a freshening program designed to leave the room smelling like nothing but clean air. No odor of bathroom or window cleaner, no hint of perfume, no remnant of the previous night's takeout.
