Lanyon celebrates processing one million RFP's for the hospitality industry, while 30,000 hotels now use Lanyon for their content management

  • Lanyon Lanyon, Inc., the leading content management and distribution technology provider to the hotel industry, announced that through Content Control Center(TM) / RFPpublisher,(TM) a product in the PropertyVault(TM) suite for corporate and consortia RFP processing, it processed its one millionth RFP in 2005.

    In addition, Lanyon announced today that it has added 7,500 properties to PropertyVault in 2005 bringing the total number of hotels using Lanyon to manage their content to 30,000. Lanyon added many significant clients during 2005 including Charming Hotels, Hawthorn Suites, Jurys Doyle and Shilo Inn Suites Hotels.

    'It is a significant achievement for this company to exceed both of these milestones, let alone in the same year,' stated Todd E. Tyler, Lanyon's President & CEO. 'Reaching each of these milestones is a testament to the fact that PropertyVault and its content management products deliver quality content, and quality content creates value for our clients.'

    With over 2,000 fields per property, Lanyon acquires this content directly from its customers - no screen scraping or phone calling to properties. This content is then stored, on behalf of its clients, in PropertyVault - an online database for property content. Lanyon clients use PropertyVault as a single point, or source, to manage and distribute this comprehensive, quality content. 'The result for the hotel company,' added Tyler, 'is a fresh, consistent, high-quality product presentation to customers regardless of the specific distribution channel which, in turn, means higher sales conversions. Furthermore, with PropertyVault as the central storage facility for this quality content, hotel companies are able to gather and constantly update their descriptive data about their property quickly and efficiently, reduce the reliance on redundant or poor quality databases and significantly reduce the manual support processes required to maintain consistent content. In other words, it creates value for our clients.'

    In addition to processing the one millionth RFP in 2005 and eclipsing the 30,000 property mark in PropertyVault, hotel companies representing over 120 hotel brands used Content Control Center / RFPpublisher to process over 450,000 RFP bids to corporations, travel management companies and agency consortia in 2005, demonstrating the use of Content Control Center / RFPpublisher by hotel companies to deliver high-quality bids to their corporate customers and agency partners in their preferred formats. Other significant highlights from 2005 include:

    • The use of the NBTA standard format, enabling hotel companies to process RFPs for 650 of the Fortune Global 1,000.
    • Corporate bids represented approximately 63% of all bids processed through Content Control Center / RFPpublisher.

    For the future, Lanyon intends to continue to focus on global expansion. Initiatives include enhancing the services it offers from its European office as well as supporting multi-lingual content in PropertyVault.
