Atmosphere Hospitality Management LLC has assumed the management and license contract of a former downtown Rapid City branded hotel and has plans to convert it to the first Adoba Eco Hotel.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) and developer Bern Hotels & Resorts have officially unveiled The Westin Playa Bonita Panam, the first Westin to open its doors in Panama.

Looking at the recent finding on rate parity trends in Europe by RateGain, is it too early to believe that in light of the upcoming London Olympics, hotels in London are making an effort to generate direct bookings by offering their best rates on their brand sites?

Hotel rate parity trends for February to April 2012 of three, four and five star hotels across some of the major cities in Europe.

In year-over-year comparisons for the week, occupancy was up 4.0 percent to 53.8 percent, average daily rate increased 4.3 percent to US$101.84 and revenue per available room was up 8.5 percent to US$54.78.

In year-over-year measurements, the Canadian hotel industry’s occupancy ended the week with a 3.8-percent increase to 56.7 percent, its average daily rate rose 3.3 percent to CAD$125.32 and its revenue per available room was up 7.2 percent to CAD$71.06.
